Review on Escada's Taj Sunset Perfume

"A sweet and smooth scent with a tropical mango fruit note and velvety coconut cream twist, a contrast that perfectly embodies the adventure and exoticism of summer in Goa.

Taj Sunset conjures an idyllic moment of dancing barefoot on a picturesque beach…. think beautiful white sand, palm trees swaying and a perfumed breeze awakening the senses as the sun begins to set into a night of exotic summer hedonism"

Recently searching for a new perfume for the summer months, I came across multiple reviews and raves about Escada’s Range of perfumes.

I had never come across this brand before, so of course I was intrigued. They have a diverse collection of “gourmand” scents.  Taj Sunset is a part of their limited edition collection and I now understand why it I got so many rave reviews.

Now to start off, I couldn’t find it anywhere in my local area to sample it before I actually purchased it. I went out on a limb and decided to buy it online but would get a small bottle and pass it along to someone else if I didn’t like it. So I jumped onto faithful StrawberryNet and there it was! A 30ml bottle for $49.50. I did a double take at the price and thought to myself “No way am I spending that much on a perfume!” But went ahead and purchased it anyway.

It arrived and eagerly I unwrapped it.  It came in a beautifully designed box that was very 70’s beach inspired. The bottle was very sleek and beautiful and looks stunning sitting on the dresser. The bottle was etched with a floral almost Indian inspired design and shaded in different shades of oranges and yellows.

Upon smelling I was immediately sent to a tropical paradise. The smell is intoxicating and so addictive. It smells like exotic tropical fruit salad. It doesn’t have that chemical or unnatural scent that fruity smells sometimes tend to have.  Upon spraying it on myself I did detect a peppery overtone when first applied. This dissipated after 10-15 minutes and went back to the original tropical fruit smell.

Overall this perfume is one of my favourites (I bought 2 backups of it just in case) It is a beautiful summer scent and smells so yummy. However I do find that the product does not last all day. You will find that mid way through the day the smell has long gone. Also it is very potent to begin with when first applying, so if you are sensitive to smells I would give this one a miss. But overall a great perfume and I will be now looking at the rest of the Escada range for more perfume treasures.

Lots of love

Storm
